My European Trip - Part 7

The Juventus game against Udinese began in a moderate tempo, with out team mostly dictating things.

After 20 minutes, Paulo Dybala, Juventus number 10, scores a beautiful free kick. It's 1:0 Juventus.

Then Dybala is brought down in the box, and the referee awards a penalty to Juventus. Gonzalo Higuain, his compatriot, steps up to take it and...

So it's still 1:0. No matter. Moving on.

The game carries on. Juve create some chances, but do not convert them, so we go to halftime. My mind is constantly on the fact that about 10 minutes before the game ends, we have to leave our seats in order to personally meet some of the players in a special post match get-together. Should be fun...

The second half begins in style. Paulo Dybala get a great pass from Higuain, who compensates for his earlier penalty miss, and scores an angled drive past Udinese's keeper. It's 2:0! We're coasting now.

So the time comes and we leave our seats. We're escorted past several security areas into the room. It's spacious, has food and plenty of Juventus fans from all over the world. We mingle, talk and then a Juventus legend, Gianluca Pessotto, shows up. It's a great moment for me. I've been a fan of his since the 90's.

Miralem Pjanic and Paulo Dybala, fresh off his brace that won the game, come into the room also. I manage to have my picture taken with him with a really silly grin on my face, but it was totally worth it. A nice keepsake.

A few more handshakes, drinks and we're leaving, going back to central Turin. Tomorrow we're off to Milano. Our last day in Italy.

So the trip was for two games - Tottenham in London and Udinese in Turin, and both are wins. A successful trip all around, but it ain't over yet.

Stay tuned for part 8 of the trip - The closing day.
